Strike Witches 3

I keep repeating it´s just friendship…

In this episode, Yoshika gets to know other Witches better and even makes a new friend, Lynette Bishop. She´s our uncertain and clumsy British sharpshooter. Lynette´s only flaw is that she tags along Yoshika, otherwise she´s perfect. Basically we follow these two when Lynette shows Yoshika around the Witches´s base and when they train together. Lynette is a good fighter while training, but in the battle she gets nervous and starts to mess up. That´s because Lynette´s only Brit in the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and has some extra pressure to protect the base. The base is located in her homeland, the UK, and it´s also Europe´s last line of defense against Neuroi. With the help of Yoshika, Lynette´s able to overcome her insecurity and she beats her first Neuroi.

I just noticed that each country´s name is changed, because Strike Witches takes place in alternative universe. Here´s a list of changes:

Finland = Suomus
Japan = Fuso
the Soviet Union = Orussia
Germany = Karlsland
USA = Liberion
Great Britain = Britannia
France = Gallia
Italy = Romagna

Besides Lynette, there wasn´t much character development in others. But even if there wasn´t development, there was some nice moments where we learned more about Witches´ personalities.

Perrine, Frenchwoman, has serious crush on Major Sakamoto. She´s always close to her, tries to please her and pisses off when Yoshika gets so much attention from Major. It was hilarious when Major, Yoshika and Lynette were just starting their training session, when Perrine push in and insists to join them. Major laughs and invites her too without knowing that Perrine joined them just to keep Yoshika away from Major. It´s interesting how Major´s not aware of Perrine´s feelings towards her.

Our cute Russkie, Sanya, suffers from narcolepsy (or not). Regardless of why she sleeps while standing, she and Eila are incredibly lovely when Eila supports and moves Sanya around. I was waiting to hear Eila´s voice, because I wanted to know how she pronounces her Finnish name. It´s wrong, but I forgive her because I´m in love with her playful tone.
