Spring is here and my crusade to find a new series to blog have begun. Today in examination are two completely different love stories: Kanokon and Itazura na Kiss. From now on, I will give first impressions a rating.

• + means it´s a good series. It doesn´t need to be awesome to get this rate, just pleasing
• 0 means average, but tolerable
• – means it´s just horrible, like Gunslinger Girl ~Il Teatrino~

Kanokon:

Kanokon is pure fanservice fest spiced with animal spirits who take human form. In other words, if you like kemonomimi and pseudo-romance this is a definite pick for you. I didn´t like this series because of the lack of plot, too child-like character designs (protagonist looks like an elementary school kid even if he´s in high school) and characters who fell in love too fast. First episode can be told in few sentences: Boy meets a girl who later reveals that she´s a foxspirit, they fall in love instantly. Then they cuddle and try to have sex for the rest of the episode. Only reason why Kanokon doesn´t get – rate is cute meganekko class rep who´s in the same class as protagonist. Her relationship with foxspirit´s brother seems interesting. I will keep watching this in the hope of plot.

Itazura na Kiss:

Unlike Kanokon, Itazura na Kiss doesn´t celebrate main pair´s love on the first episode. It´s an shoujo series which usually means slow development. That´s a good thing, because I like to watch how characters love grows step by step. At Itazura na Kiss main girl Aihara´s life gets messed up when her crush Irie rejects her. On top of it, she has to move in together with him because her house collapses in earthquake. Aihara and Irie must now learn to stand each other or else their family life will be really awkward. I can´t wait to see next episode, but even if this left nice and warm feeling inside me with it´s mix of comedy and drama, I will not continue to blog about it. Itazura made me feel good, but it wasn´t world-shaking. I´m still waiting for a series that will blast me off my chair.
