Yay, today is my 19th birthday! *celebrates* It´s 19th day and I´m turning 19… To reminisce my many years of otakuhood, I´ve made a top10 list of my all-time anime favourites. Read and be horrified. 8D

10. Yakitate Japan
Yakitate Japan is a clever shounen series. Basic idea is crazy and you may think that jokes get old quickly because of it´s simplicity. But the truth is that creators prove time after time how fun it can be to watch when people bake bread. Yukino, the villain of the series, is my favourite character with her two-faced personality and cruelty. You have to love a woman whose hobby is sabotage.

9. Ouran High School Host Club
Funniest otaku series ever made. Ouran differs from other otaku series because it´s main audience is girls. Every yaoi cliché is presented here and made fun of. Characters are parodies of your usual guy types, but with more depth. Ouran is important to me because it destroyed the last inhibitions of my mind. Before Ouran I was against incest at anime, but after it, such a thing as shame when watching it didn´t exist anymore. Thank you, Hikaru and Kaoru for ruining the small amount of purity that was still remaining in my mind.

8. Kyo Kara Maou
Another series with an crazy basic idea. How can you not love a series where the protagonist is a schoolboy and the king of demons at the same time, has a harem of men and will be married to pretty boy? Kyo Kara Maou is a long series, but still it remains funny to the end with it´s crazy characters and plot twists. Gwendal is lovely. He pretends to be a cold man, but he´s actually nice and warm guy whose hobby is knitting. <3~~

7. Dai Mahou Touge
Best OVA ever made. Punie is the future sovereign of the world and those who deny her will be crushed. Catch is that Dai Mahou Touge looks like an magical girl series, but it isn´t. It´s a violent parody of japanese culture made to look like cute and innocent. Punie´s public face is kind and sweethearted girl, but when pissed off she turns into deadly warrior.

6. Toward the Terra
One of the best shoujo animes ever. It´s great how time doesn´t stay still here like it does in other animes. Characters grow old and new ones are born. Soldier Blue is my idol because of his nobility and strong leadership.

5. Elfen Lied
First you think that Elfen Lied is just a gory fanservice, but little by little it will reveal it´s true colors. It´s actually a heart breaking drama with memorable characters and interesting setting.

4. Black Lagoon
Black Lagoon attracts me because it´s kind of realistic, but at the same time it isn´t. Terminator maid is definitely out of this world, but the city where characters live is cold and cruel, just like a real world. Black Lagoon´s difference compared to ordinary genki anime mood, combined with great action scenes and characters makes it special to me.

3. Revolutionary Girl Utena
Best yuri and relationship drama. Utena´s greatness comes from the confusion it causes. Story is full of metaphors and mysteries, if you watch Utena half-asleep I can assure you that you won´t understand what happens on it. Characters relationships are complex which helps me to love this series even more. Btw, myucon´s first layout was based on Utena, to be precise, on my favourite character Arisugawa Juri and her hopeless love for girl named Shiori.

2. Mai-series´ meaning Mai-Hime/Otome etc.
I love how these series throw unexpected plot twists to viewers face without warning. Especially Mai-Hime´s battle royale made me go through so many feelings that it´s impossible to forget. Together Mai-series´ make a huge and interesting universe which is complemented by new adaptations. Because of this, characters feel like friends and I´m interested of what happens to them next.

1. Code Geass
Obvious first choice to be my all-time favourite, if you´ve ever browsed my site you probably guessed this one. But here´s once again, long story short: Characters from the design to personality, plot and the whole world of Geass just simply leaves me with an awe. It´s full of action, drama, thrill and insanity, themes that I love. Characters looks good and are full of secrets. Sure there´s some flaws but they doesn´t matter when each episode causes this kind of fulfillment inside me.
