Code Geass as Yandere show

Nina goes yanderu

Now you may be a little bit confused; I´ve already made one review of Code Geass. Let me explain this new one. It´s under the name Yandere show, so instead of making your usual review, I will only concentrate on Geass´s yandere characters here.

She´s not yangire even if this might look like it

First thing what I want to make clear, is that Euphemia´s not yandere or even yangire. Yandere´s actions are based on the free will of the character. No-one tells them to harm the people they love. When they snap, it happens because of mental disease or insecurity which have growed inside the character for a long time. Even when they snap, they still have a slight control of their mind and body on their hands. It might not seem so to viewer when yanderekkos rampage, but they do it because they want to do it. Euphemia lost the control of her mind and body and she was forced to do what she did, that´s the reason why she isn´t yandere. If we start to call every character that´s been under mind-control yandere, we will have a huge list of names on our hands.

Now, after opening my heart about Euphemia matter, I can finally introduce the main character of this post. Her name is Nina Einstein, our cute lesbian meganekko and most importantly, she´s yandere to the core.

First time when we see Nina, she´s shy and timid computer nerd who´s afraid of Elevens. She doesn´t have any love interest yet. That´s until princess Euphemia saves her from Elevens during their hotel hijacking. She´s impressed by the nobleness of Euphemia and starts to develop feelings towards her. Before Nina even notices it, she´s in love with another woman. Because of destiny´s tricks Euphemia and Nina became friends. Nina´s crush is one-sided but she´s cool with it, she just wants to be beside Euphemia. Everything was okay, until one day, when revolutionary Zero killed Nina´s beloved princess. Her shock turned into rage and despair. She wants to avenge Euphemia. She modified old Knightmare Frame to explode. She wants to wipe out Zero´s existence, even if she destroys the whole city at the same time.

modified Knightmare Soon, whole town goes Boom

Nina´s transition from frightened quiet girl to the threath of the city was exciting. Like most of the yanderes, she was also the silent girl on the corner of the class. Even if Code Geass ended to cliffhanger and didn´t bring anything to conclusion, it´s clear that Nina´s pure yandere. Her state of mind was clearly affected by the lost of the person she loved and her despair made she do things she wouldn´t even consider if she was still sane.

It´s nice to have yandere girl whose love interest isn´t a guy. Besides Nina, I know just two others. I won´t spoil their names, but I can say that they are from Myself; Yourself and Mai-Hime.

I can´t wait to see the conclusion of Nina´s actions. But before the second season comes, here´s her current yandere points. As I said at the beginning, Yandere show posts are different kind of reviews grading yandere characters. Lowest possible grade on this scale is 4, highest is 10.

Nina´s yanderekko points:

Design: 9 -I love her glasses, cute face and curly hair
Character: 8 -Lesbian yandere, maybe a little bit too frightened
Story: 9 -Tragic love with princess
Yandere: 7 -I like how she used her knowledge with machines to unleash her yandere side. Lost points, because it´s yet to be seen how her doings result.

Overall: 8 -Nina´s like a fresh gust of wind to yandere scene with her forbidden love and unique weapon of choice. Who needs knives when you can have a mecha?
