I take my earlier words back about Neuro being just a comedy. Episode 7 of Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro proved me wrong.

It starts with your usual idiotism of Neuro and the same episode pattern is used as seen in previous episodes. Normally Yako and Neuro got a new case, they try to solve it with the help of demon devices and after revealed, the culprit turns to the demon form. This time they were chasing guy named Sai who kill people and puts them into toyboxes. Police had him cornered and next thing what should have happened was Neuro to eat him. Everything is normal until Yako points her finger of doom.

Cornered man isn´t the true culprit, one of the polices is. True Sai reveals himself and turns out he´s a cute boy who can change his appearance. Fake Sai tells him that he´s just a copycat and admires Sai. He asks how he can cram people to those tiny boxes. Sai shows him how by killing the fake. Looks like Sai also got some mystical powers like Neuro and because this amuses him, Neuro decides not to eat him yet. Police arrests Sai but he escapes soon.

Feels like Neuro took a new direction at this episode. It was more serious than ever with enemy added to the picture. Who Sai really is and what he is? Finally there´s some big mystery going on, until now they´ve been just small crises. Neuro never had any real challenges, he was kind of bored. Sai´s ability and the fact he didn´t change to demon form after revelation showed he´s strong. He looks young, but he´s definitely professional killer. Someone like this is perfect meal for Neuro. He can create new mysteries for Neuro to solve and he have a power to escape even if they are solved. Let´s hope Sai will cause more disorder at future episodes so Neuro can be all over him again.

Neuro might feel more mature now, but it´s still pretty stupid. I mean, seriously, new bad guy is an bishie whose mission is to stuff people into boxes and Neuro lusts after him? I can hear fujoshi´s screaming.

But why they used black blood at School Days when Neuro have pools of red blood and more brutal murders? Talk about strange censorship custom.
